For this challenge, you need to pick one basic shape, in mine I chose circles, but you can use squares, rectangles, triangles, octogon, pentagon, etc etc. Everything you put on the collage must use that shape some how. This might be a bit difficult to figure out, but I think the overall look will be fun.

I started with a hand made paper circle, a circle paper doily, a circle piece of kirigami, and the circle with spiral as my background. Then I searched my stashes for anything that had circles. I found the paper with the small circles which I cut for stems, and kept layering the circles for the trees bodies. This was a fun collage. The hand made paper sort of disintegrated when I tried to glue it on, and took like two days to dry it was so absorbent! I hightlighted many of the circles with charcoal pencil.

Hope you play with this one!

Angie, I also deliberated about sharing my last collage. I have learnt it is better for me to share as I learn more about myself and my creativity that way.

i guess it's like getting a child ready for a party & then saying "no, you don't look good enough, you're staying home", for as Frank says in one of his poems, our creative works are "our babies".

Angie, I love your collage! The colors are awesome -- my faves, bright yellows, pinks, oranges. I like how you incoroporated bicycle wheels into the circle theme, and I think your pink tree is a very creative, whimsical, unique tree -- is that a tire swing I see?

Reminds me of a favorite Jimmy Buffett song -- "Life is just a tire swing". :-)

yes, yes, a tire swing!!! i didn't "put" it there, but i would have, if i'd thought of it, 'cos it's a very good idea, so glad you can see it!!!

Love the image of the child under the tree. And that background is to die for! Love it!

Angie, I love the collage and the paint. I use a lot of paint and writing in my collages and mixed media.

You chose yes to post and I am glad you did. This is beautiful. It reminds me of my Utah hat sunny days, the background like a huge sun! And I played forever in this sun. How fun! Thanks for playing and posting! I am glad you told us what medium you used, I would never have guessed!

yeah, i tried oil pastels some years ago, & had a bit of fun putting them on in layers & then scratching out a picture. My sister still has one little pic i did from them, entitled "coypu floating in open water", i just copied this critter from a book....but i like to think i find a "thread" there through my life of interests....anyhow i don't know what happened to those oil pastels but i decided to buy a new box, i like the smell of them.
