I just decided to start an open discussion where we can put collages that are not part of any challenge or other discussion. I want to see what we can all do :-)

Thanks Mary. Most people do not make the gift they bring- there is usually 'pamper' scented bath oils, candles, journals, relaxation CD's, Things like that. Then there are some like me who make something- one gal makes lpa quilts, there was a beader who made necklace and earrings...and one gal made a 'home is where the heart is' house inside a shoe box...that was really sweet! I do not know if any of them will be there this year- they come up from the south while I go down from the north :-)

Love the artwork ... my first thought was that the frame detracts, too drab ... needs to coordinate with one of the colors in the art, solid blue or green or maybe the yellow? Do you have some construction paper you could hold next to the art and imagine it? Great collage, Julesie! One can never have enough flutterbys in my humble opinion! =)

This is sooooo lovely, Jules. I love the butterflies converging on the right. They remind me of the way flying ants (termites) boil up out of the earth after summer rain.

Here are a few of my latest, as in the last two weeks, collages.

Carol, these are fantastic! I especially love the first one -- the sentiment really speaks to me. Great colors and wonderful use of your space! Thanks for sharing them.

Carol- these are awesome...the first one, with the face breaking through the three face silhouette speaks volumes to me.

Jules, thanks, I like that element too. The first glance, for me, is decieving, like the girl is shrouded in a cape of some kind. Well, that was my reaction, lol. Thanks for commenting!

The first one is so visually stunning, love the way you picked up the tones in the magazine images, and used it throughout ... just the right amount of purple to go with the dramatic eyeshadow - wow ... you always find the neatest faces, Carol!

The Albert Schweitzer quote in the second one is great! I feel that way about a member of another group who is constantly ranting about how we need to be more focused on finding life on other planets. He thinks it would be terribly sad if it turns out that our "tired old rock called earth" is the one and only ... I just don't get why, with all the billions of people on this beautiful planet of ours, we can't focus on getting to know each other better before we get so bored that we have to look elsewhere ..

I agree Barb. I think there are many things he could do here on this earth to keep from getting bored. I used to tell my students this: People who say they are bored, are boring! lol
