Carolyn has posed the first challenge for the group- an all-red collage! OK, pinks and a bit of white allowed, but red, red, red is the color of the day! Let's see what everyone comes up with...

Lin, thank you so much! Your kind words mean so much to me. The googly eyes were an after-thought ... I was planning to make eyes in the "E"s of "Seeing", but I was going to use paper or paint. Then, when I was scrounging around one of our many misc. craft drawers ... Eureka! I found a container full of googly eyes. I was going to just use them for the "E"s, but I couldn't resist placing them around the rest of the collage too.

Your comments make me excited to do another. This one was a challenge for me, finding time and space, and then wanting to make everything "just right" (which I didn't do for the sake of just getting it done). But now I am ready to tackle "Message in a Bottle"!

Thanks again, friend.

Hi Mo! Just now am seeing this...I've got so much catching up to do here!

I LOVE this collage! I knew those were sunglasses, and I saw the binoculars right off! (What do kids know, anyway?!) You did a fantastic job, and I love the little "Keep Calm" message at the bottom left! The magnifying glass is an awesome idea, and all your "seeing" touches just delight my eyes!

Keep 'em coming, gal!!

XO

Hi Friend! Thank you so much for your kind words :-). I saw the new SoulCollage group here, and can't wait to join in. I am still catching up from being away for a few days. How are you doing?

Maureen, I love your red collage. I love red and this is awsome. And the googly eyes. Just love googly eyes. Kudos for sticking with it and finishing your first collage. It is so wonderful to watch you opening your wings, like a new butterfly.

I have yet to make my first one, but you have encouraged me. Some day.

"(Who needs an inner critic when you have kids?)" LOL, Classic. And soooo true. I look forward to seeing what else you come up with.
Hugs, Valerie

Hi Valerie! Thanks so much! I have missed you ... have you been drawing and painting lately? This collage thing is fun -- I would love it if you'd make one too!

Way to go, Mo! I'm so glad you persevered and finished this, it's whimsical and I love the relationships between all the different parts ... that "Keep Calm and Carry On" is the perfect finishing touch, and a reminder I can really use at times :)

Ah, kids ... we had a three year old named Robbie and his five year old sister Katarina behind us on our flight to Chicago. Both cutie pies ... and Robbie was such a chatterbox ... "What's that? What's the airplane doing now, mommy? We're going up really high! I think we're going higher than heaven!" etc etc etc ... I complimented his mother on her patience when we got up to leave the plane ... for all the many questions little Robbie came up with, she calmly explained everything to him, speaking as an adult ... truly admirable!

Thank you so much, Barb! I love that you said "whimsical" -- hooray! That is what I love to create ... a bit of whimsy :-).

Love your story about the child and his mother on the airplaine. How nice of you to compliment the mother -- I can assure you that meant a lot to her! My Anna is a chatterbox too, and sometimes, after 4 hours of chatting, I have to tell her that mommy's voice needs a rest.

I am so glad you had fun in Chicago -- I saw the pics you posted. It looks and sounds like it was a great trip! So fun to see you and Jules together :-).
