... and a failure a day means success is on it's way :)

Well said, my friends...

Jules, they make my heart feel good. They evoke strong peaceful feelings and a little nostalgia. They remind me of fabric art my mother used to do. Great composition with the three little hills! I hope they end up in the right place.

Me too...the Lost Jules ATC's are gorgeous. Remind me of Amy Zerner's quilts (here are Tarot cards from her deck )

And I keep looking at Judy's quilted card and thinking...I have a fancy (-er) sewing machine, I could try that...

Thanks Val- I will go have a look at the tarot cards.
I have a 1955 Singer Featherwieght. It does nothing fancy...but it will stitch through thickness better than the newer machines. Perfect for quilting, crafting, and upholstering
It was my Mom's- when I 'left the nest' she sent this machine with me. Regular cleaning and oiling and it still purrs like a kitten :-)

Oh, me too. I have my Mom's Singer 201-2, late 40s. A little heavier than a Featherweight, but it is the Cadillac of sewing machines. I have all the attachments, too--all kinds of cogs and wheels to make zigzag and decorative stitches and SERIOUS buttonholes (that's when the attachments moved the fabric around and the needle stayed in one place.) I need to have it serviced--I've been putting that off. I have a more recent Singer with about 27 stitches including serging--it's good for my level of sewing, but not as trustworthy as the 201.

Ooooh. You two are making me sooo jealous. I would love to have a Featherweight. Those old machines really kicked butt. Give 'em a little oil and change the needle and their happy as a pig in mud. I learned on a treadle.

Thanks Shayla- some of the fabrics came from my Grandma's 'stash'. I come by saving and collecting honestly- it has been passed down through the generations LOL

aw, Jules, what a pity these were lost, they're exquisite. I'm so glad you photographed them.

At long last (we are having computer troubles over here) posted:

That God has a plan?!

(I love the little ladybug button!)

Judy Allen "Summer Colors"

and Barb Storrier "Left Behind"

Susan Hoskin "The Beach 2009"

and Mary "Afternoon at the Beach"
(with real sandpaper!)

Absolutely lovely! Thank you all!!

Sorry Susan--didn't mean to spell your name wrong. (Hosken) It's been that kind of day over here....

Soooo summery. Makes me wish summer were really here. The calendar says so, but Mother Nature has her own time schedule.
These are all so beautiful. A twofer from Mary Hicks, and Judy's fabric and thread. My weakness. Barbs feather is awsome. Inspiration, I want to stitch it. And there is that bucket and spade from Susan. I want to take my grand-daughter to the beach so I can play : )
Mary's Afternoon at the Beach looks so calm and serene. I could get lost there.
