As creative artists we often think wistfully of how an idyllic creative life might be, without the problems we perceive as being present today. We say to ourselves: “One day, when I have (the time / enough ideas / the energy...) I will (write my book / return to painting / learn piano / etc)”. By placing such idealistic conditions on our creative lives, in effect we drastically reduce the chance of us ever creating with what we have NOW.

This Creativity Cookie is called Nourishing Now Wows and will help you focus on putting to use all the skills and resources you have available to you right NOW, right here today, instead of putting creating off until a tomorrow that never seems to arrive.

Head over to Creativity Portal for the full Cookie, try it out for yourself, then head back here to share your comments and experiences: Creativity Cookies: Nourishing Now Wows

I guess I could use this same process for getting better use of technology. I have used time as the reason I don't spend more time learning. I would rather spend my time creating, and that is why I don't spend time on the technological aspects of the computer. hmmmmm what more can I say? Okay, this: when my move from working to retirement gave me time to create, I have done just that, creating non stop on a daily basis. I think eventually, that will slow down, and then I will have more time to try the technology. How's that?

You could say that learning is one of the purest forms of creating... You're creating new pathways in your mind, new connections, new ways of seeing and doing... Many of these new pathways will allow you to be more creative, more easily...

There was a time for all of us when we couldn't talk, couldn't write, didn't know how to use a computer or a camera... Learning all of these things allowed us to be more creative, and express our creativity in new languages...

For me, creating doesn't just mean "making stuff"...

I understand now why I spend a lot of time reading other people's works.I need to learn new ways to express myself.By reading other blogs and comments I'm learning different points of view, which defintely gives me the opportunity to feel more empathy and to see things differently. Now it's time to work.I'll come back later

Yes I think it's a continuous cycle Patricia, you gather inspiration from others, then go and create your own interpretation of that, then come to a point where you seek inspiration again and the creative evolution continues... : )
