Eligibility: Open to artists at least 18 years old. Painting must be at least 80% acrylic on any surface.

La Fundación de les Arts y els Artists de Barcelona
Open to all artists who sign up before 31may 2008
Prizes 200.000 EUR to be shared out between winners and postgraduate opportunity for under 30's.

One original piece per artist. Any theme and technique provided it is figurative. Originality and mastery of technique will be taken into account.

To facilitate the participation of people from abroad, it is recommended that you first send a photograph of the piece to: [e-mail], so that you won't have to send the original unless it is selected.

*Painting
Painting of minimum dimensions of 60 x 60 cm and maximum 300 x 200cm. Must be presented without frame or with a simple support. Works protected by glass will not be accepted.

*Sculpture
Maximum dimension 200cm at its longest extension not including support or plinth, minimum 50cm. No weight limit.

* One painting prize: 36.000 EUR
* One sculpture prize: 44.000 EUR
* Purse for acquisition: 120.000 EUR

Plus honorable mentions and la Fundación Arte y Autores Contemporáneos will give the prize of a grant for Postgraduate in Painting for 2009 which is open to any painters under 30 years of age of any nationality whether they have previous art studies or not.

You will receive a confirmation mail with detailed information and then you will have to present or send in your piece between the 23rd and the 31st of May to one of the following addresses:
