Exhibiting? Entering a Juried Show or Competition? Selling your work? Approaching publishers? Or simply showing your work to a new audience? This is the place for you!

Hi there everyone:-) This is THE place to:

• Get/give encouragement and advice about exhibiting, entering competitions/juried shows, selling your work, approaching publishers, galleries and shops or simply showing your work to a new audience.

• Enourage one another to use competition entry dates as motivation to complete our work within a given time-scale and so change our way of thinking about competition(s) in general...

• Share our successes - big and small - and get to share in the success of others:-)
(Or if necessary, learn to live with rejections...and have others to commiserate with!)

• Share details of art, writing, photo etc. competitions world-wide

• Hopefully get a bit of cash, publicity or a chance to exhibit our work in the process!

Oh and,

• Anything else WE want to make it:-)

HOW TO POST COMPETITION INFORMATION
1. Please check all the topics in the Discussion Forum list by clicking See All to see whether there is already a relevant thread for you to add your competiton to. e.g. a photo competition would go under the thread PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITONS. This helps to keep all competitions of the same genre in the same place so they are easy to find and enables people to comment, post things they've submitted etc.

2. If you can't find a relevant thread, then please post a new one by clicking Start Discussion. Title your thread in CAPITAL LETTERS to differentiate it from other types of discussions and call it something short like DOLL-MAKING COMPETITIONS so its easily recognizable. Your thread will automatically go to the top of the discussions list making it easy for people to see that there is new info.

How To Find Your Natural Writing Style

Finding your own unique voice in writing is not something that can simply happen overnight.

When we’re born, we don’t pop out of our mother’s womb conversing fluently in 3 different languages. It takes time to discover how to communicate, and even when we’ve achieved a competent grasp our native language, it’s still a lifelong journey of finding new nuances, learning new words and honing the way we communicate so we can understand – and are understood – more clearly.

So your writing is a natural extension of this. Even when you have that competency in your mother tongue, as a writer you can then go on to develop an original and distinctive writing style. Here are 5 tips to make this a rewarding journey:
