Dear friends,
Like all of us I have different selves. I have the part of me that loves traveling and adventures and the part of me that likes to stay home. Part of me is creative while part of me likes to sit and be quiet and still. Part of me likes exercise while part of me doesn't want to do it.
At times I am in conflict with my different aspects. How do you reconcile the different parts of yourself? WHich part of you wins out? Who loses? Why?

I remember from art history that many, many of her paintings were about her identity- her roots...

Yes, it makes me want to talk to her about her symbols, and ask questions...she went through so much in life.

I've read that many women dream of a black woman when going through life altering (underworld journey) type changes. I don't remember any dreams about black women. I've had a lot of message dreams lately. Yet I have a lot of resistance to holding onto them by getting out of the comfy bed and writing. I drift back to sleep ... and they are forgotten.

raconteur

a person who is skilled in relating stories and anecdotes interestingly.

You look pretty in your fancy dress
But I detect unhappiness
You never speak so I have to guess
You're not free.

There, maybe when you're old enough
You'll realize you're not so tough
And some days the seas get rough
And you'll see

You're too young to have it figured out
You think you know what you're talking about
You think it will all work itself out
But we'll see

When I was young I thought I knew
You probably think you know too
Do you? Well do you?
I was naive just like you
I thought I knew exactly what I wanted to do
Well, what's you gonna do?

And how have you gotten by so far
Without having a visible scar?
No one knows who you really are
They can't see

What's you gonna do (what's you gonna do)
What's you gonna do now
What's you gonna do (what's you gonna do)
What's you gonna do now
What's you gonna do (what's you gonna do)
What's you gonna do now
What's you gonna do (what's you gonna do)
What's you gonna do now
What's you gonna do now

The only way you'll ever learn a thing
Is to admit that you know absolutely nothing
Oh nothing
Think about this carefully
You might not get another chance to speak freely
Oh freely

Maybe when you're old enough
Maybe when you're old enough
Maybe when you're old enough
You're not free
You're not free

To me, it is B-A-L-A-N-C-E. No conflict, unless the balance is disrupted by 3rd parties, over whom I exercise no control. Acknowledge that wobble for a few minutes (or less); say something Affirmative, such as: "This does not bother me." Focus on whatever is utmost on your mind and Go forward. It matters not which self is leading the way - they all take their turn - some more than others. It is still called Balance. Works for me!

Yes, Boneita, very wise ... balance is the way I'm looking for ... the middle road. Yet when my inner child is upset, she wants to be heard, and trying to express to someone who can not be bothered can make things seem even worse sometimes. I'll be there, one day ...

I am a Libran with the sign of the scales. I am always moving from one extreme to another and pass balance on the way. I like times in my life when there is lots to do, other times when it is quiet. I like being off balance and on my toes. I love change and the awareness of the stillness of the moment.

i'm an aries, the ram, and a chinese dragon, before signify fire I think..

I recently read that the dragon signifies change in the East. In the West many people aren't too comfortable with dragons, and the butterfly is more common as the symbol of change. I'm a Leo, and my Chinese sign is the Water Snake.
