What would you choose as your "Ten Commandments" of being as creative as you can be?

Ten guidelines for living the most fulfilling and creative life you can...

(Have fun with this, and if you can't come up with ten, just share what you have - more will come later...)

To get us started:

- Always create what you love, not what you feel you "should" create.

- Be inspired by others but don't plagiarise. No-one can create like you do, celebrate your individuality.

- Count your blessings daily. Be thankful for the creative talents you have.

1. Do what you love.

2. Embrace the whole creative process.

3.Find your tribe and share art and ideas.

4.Balance. Big chunks of solitude for making art, balanced with time with loved ones as well as time gathering impressions, inspiration, ideas, visiting galleries, art shops, junk shops, walking in nature etc.

5.Record your ideas in a notebook. Keep an inspiration file for cuttings and quotes.

6.Begin! ....even if its one small step everyday.

7. Keep moving. No stagnation. When you feel stuck do something, anything even if its just a journal entry. Writing often stimulates the creative process.

8.Losing myself in my work is my ultimate goal. My daily meditation.

9.Remember to replenish especially after a long phase of artmaking.

10. Show your work. It's no good hiding it. Start by sharing with the people that "get you" and then slowly widen the net as your confidence grows.
