Our beliefs about how creative we are define how creative we are going to be. Your beliefs are the equivalent of a glass ceiling on your creativity’s rocket ship. If that ceiling is so low you bang your head every time you even try to stand up, let alone launch a rocket ship, then it’s no surprise you’re not reaching anywhere near your creative potential.

This Creativity Cookie is called “Belief Berry Booster” and will help you start to give your creative self belief the boost it needs to reach new levels.

Head over to Creativity Portal for the full Cookie, try it out for yourself, then head back here to share your comments and experiences.

KEEP HAVING FUN! Oh, Lin, if you knew the hours I've wasted sitting at the computer when I probably should have been "being a housewife!" Whatever that is...it ain't me, and I'm not gonna do it! If you can't have some joy in every day, then just don't have anything.

You just keep doing what you're doing. You are so creative -- as a writer, as an organizer, as a leader, as an artist (my goodness, just look at your mandalas!)...you have so much to offer.

In many ways, I'm "just now" realizing and believing in myself as a creative person. The more I show my results to others, the better I feel about sitting at my computer, or sitting and doodling, or sitting and crocheting, or simply sitting. GO GIRL! Know that you have all my love and support. You deserve it.

XO -- Mary

I'm so happy to watch your creativity coming back, Mary ... you've had some tough experiences to grow through in the last few years, and have come out on the other side, stronger and better than ever. You're exactly in the right place at the right time, and I hope you'll do more writing soon ... the first few blog posts you made here at CCS just blew me away :)

Wow! I didn't think I'd get balm to sooth my 'less than domestic diva' guilt, plus some handy tips.

Here's my list of creativity Belief Berry Booster:
1. I believe my creativity is joyful
2. I believe my creativity has calculation
3. I believe it doesn't compete with others.
4. I believe my creativity and everyone else's is increased by "filling the well."
5. I believe it has been stimulated by the online community and "Café des Artistes" (an artist's club)
6. I believe it needs a trip to a good spa with no harsh chemicals or perfumes, good food, and lots of natural beauty for at least one week.

Great list. And Amen to #6!

Dan, I'm a little late but want to tell you what a great suggestion this is. It's exactly what I need right now!

I've just begun an online drawing class (Drawing for the Complete Beginner), and it's really taking me out of my comfort zone. Each lesson, I'm feeling more and more incompetent. I realize it's all about me -- I'm an abstract artist -- yet at the same time I'm "proving" to myself that I can complete this and feel good for at least trying. Your suggestions really cultivate the meaning of what I want to get out of this class. Thanks so much for all you do here for us at CCS. YOU ROCK -- AND SALSA!!
